ECW was an East Coast promotion starting in the early 90s as a sort of off off off shoot of the Pepsi and Coca-Cola of professional wrestling WCW and the WWF soon to be WWE. A lot of what you would see in the WWE, especially in the late 90s was very much inspired by and one might argue ripped off by what they pulled off in ECW. Now RVD was a crazy wrestler in that he was death defying and took a lot of risks. He was also balladic and acrobatic and an extraordinary athlete. I would venture to say he is among the 10 most incredible athletes over the 1990s.
