The History of the Oneida Community
John Humphrey Noise believed sex brought Oneida's closer to God. He publicized it widely in the annual reports that he wrote, and also in the newspaper. In 1860s, more than 50,000 people came to the community to tour it. The railroad built a special spur to the Oneida community with a stop called Community.
