Medical racism is such a deeply important issue because it impacts carein every single way. When i was doing the medical response at standing rock, i was called out there by california native people and then really brought in by the lacota dacota grannies. And so their experience of raceism was so, so profound. The history of force sterilizations, how medicine has abused and used black and indigenous bodies as a part of expanding ways of knowing,. As a part of all these horrific, unethical things and practices that have happened. A which really speaks to the m failure of our profession to actually advance health equity.
