Are All People Equally Valuable?

In the Thought Experiment, Rawls asks if everyone deserves to be treated equally. He says it's a problem for both the principle of difference and that of equality of liberty or opportunity. But there is another way in which we could envisage an equal society - with people voting on what they think should happen. In other words, knowledge about nature of our economic systems work and technology works.
