The Ghost Dancers and Black Elk
Black Elk captured five horses in a skirmish, later gave a couple to two men who were on foot. The next day he wanted to kill Soldiers but was restrained from doing so by his three companions,. Kill's enemy, poor Buffalo, and Braveheart. Nye Heart reported this restraint Black Elk exercised, but an in-law of Black Elk later claimed that the holy man admitted to shooting a Soldier during this period. A ceasefire was arranged and so the Ghost Dance War was brought to a close.
