The Importance of Convenience

In 2012, US inventors came up with a product called the Galactic Cap. The project required more than a million dollars just to get through FDA approval. In 2013, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded 11 new condom design projects $100,000 to help bring their product to market. One of the funded designers, Mark McLaughlin, said condoms from bovine tendons would replicate feeling of actual skin. But two years later, he told reporters that the project had stalled as it required more than £1million in funding.
