The Liturgical and the Evangelical in the Early Church
The liturgy in the early church was worship around the word, and then moved to the prayers of the people. So there was a movement that culminated in the celebration of the word supper. It doesn't mean we're necessarily like saying so many Hail Marys or worshiping idols and icons. That's not actually what it's about.
