Tolkien's Languages
Tolkien was interested in creating a mythology for the UK. He wanted to replace our old Celtic stories with new myths and legends. Tolkien created different languages for his made-up races of people, elves, orcs, dwarves, hobbits, ants,. And so he created the world that we see in Lord of the Rings. It was just a world created for his languages to exist within.
