The Fire Can't Go Where It's Already Been

Jesus experienced the fire of judgment for us so that we wouldn't have to. Jesus took that upon himself. I remember hearing a story of the pioneers who were traveling west, hundreds and thousands of people with their covered wagons in tow. They had a controlled fire that burned the area in front of them that wrapped far enough around until when the fire came, it went just on the side of them. What they knew is that the fire can't go where the fire's already been. The fire will not hop over that line, but it will go around us and we'll be protected.
