The dawn of everything is a book that I know both you and I really enjoy, the dawn of everything gets into in a lot more detail. It's not obvious if your perspective or your frame on the story makes it very difficult to see that. He uses the term empire, which I think I know some readers have reacted really strongly to because it just invokes the entire giant vector of imperialism from Rome to the British Empire. But yeah, I think totally in terms of the takeaway you get at that.
