In the book i talk about three different styles of positioning one is you know this create a new category which is very difficult it takes a long time you need to have patient investors then there's this big fish small pond which is you know i'm just gonna i'm not going to dominate a whole existing market i'm just going to try to dominate a piece of it and then the last one is this head-to-head where i'm going into a market that already exists and i'm attempting to dominate the whole thing. The vast majority of startups that are successful in their early days start off doing this big fishsmall pond thing, he says.
