The Uncertainty of Joe Bruno's Death
Joe Bruno suffered a single blow to the head and died two hours later. His doctor concluded that the weapon must have been extremely sharp because the blade had cut clean to the brain. The people of New Orleans, especially the city's Italian community, were gripped with fear. Later, detectives found the murder weapon, a bloodied axe left on his bedroom floor.
