Good futurists are all about sort of looking to optimum senarios and situations falling together. Ballard, who wrote about anything but optimum scenarios was more like a crash course in the unpalatable. And i think he sits always taking you into the unpalable palatable. This is what happens with innovation all the time - we just don't want to believe something that's not possible. We're gon to dyson something, even if we're not using the dyson. But when things start going catastrophically wrong? You know, everybody believes in those big towers because they look so good. Amwes: "I love his work"
