The Relationship Between Culture and Nature
Linguistically and historically culture and nature have always been intertwined. One of the things that's interesting is that when England took Wales as a colony, they effectively treated Scotland as a colony. I think that there's a sense of the permanent connection that the human heart has with the natural world. It didn't start in Siberia and spread, like the kind of religions of the book spread; it started right under your feet.
