The History of Queen Charlotte's Second Marriage
In 1800, Queen Charlotte brought a tradition into the royal household that has stuck to the present day in Mecklenburg's trellis. There was a tradition of bringing in a U branch and the children of the family would decorate it with presents they had bought for their parents. The whole tree was illuminated by small wax candles.
