The History of Queen Charlotte's Second Marriage

In 1800, Queen Charlotte brought a tradition into the royal household that has stuck to the present day in Mecklenburg's trellis. There was a tradition of bringing in a U branch and the children of the family would decorate it with presents they had bought for their parents. The whole tree was illuminated by small wax candles. On the branches, hung bunches of sweet meats, almond and raisin in colored papers, fruits and toys,. most tastefully arranged. After the entire company had walked round and around and admired the tree, each child, to their delight, obtained a portion of the sweets that it had born together with a toy. And then all returned home quite delighted
