Luke 23 verse 34: Jesus, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. Under Jewish law, there was an exception for if you do something unwittingly, unknowing,. If you do something ignorantly, you're not guilty because a crime has to be with "men's rea" You have to know what you're doing and do it purposely. So by referring just to this one verse, Dr. Hopkins is saying that Jesus might be referring to the entire Psalm in the story that's told there.
