Lafayette and the King - The King's Body Guards

Lafayette managed to push his own way into the palace and made his way to the room where the royal family was being held. He found the king chatting calmly with the guardsmen, who had apparently told the king that they wanted now to be his body guard. Lafayette got together with the king and said, look, sire, here's what you're going to have to do. Then lafayette brought out a non commissioned officer from the flanders regiment and pinned a tri color cockade on his jacket. Finally, at lafayette's insistence, marie antoinette was brought out on to the balcony too.
