The Memphis Design in the 80's
TJIF started in 1985 and technically began during the 1988-1989 season. The logo for TJIF featured various fonts with a changing color background made up of purple, green, blue, orange and pink. A lot of the look and aesthetic we associate with the early 90's is just a continuation of the design created by the Memphis group years earlier. Back to the Future 2 was made in early 1989 and the creators of the movie took what they saw all around them during this time to create a snapshot of how future generations would look back on the 80's.
