Melancholia - Turning Against Yourself

Mourning is a state of arrested development, where you can't actually get beyond that kind of anger at the person. And it often results in you turning against yourself. So to put it simply, melancholy as comprised of three primary elements: loss of an object, ambiance about what that object meant and regression into one's own self.
