In synthetic biology, we can build new networks. We can use components that never exist in this cell but we can introduce it into this cell and connect them together to generate new functions. That's basically what we can do with synthetic biology. And specifically in this study, you use something that you call a solitary gene network. So can you explain what does it mean?
