The Importance of the Olivet Discourse in Mark 13

Mark 13:9-13: "You will be hated by all for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved" Matthew takes words from Olivet Discourse and inserts them into Jesus' charge. It creates bizarre impression that before they finish their mission, the Son of Man will return. A saying can look as if it means different things when it is read in different contexts.
