The Origins of Mormonism in Mexico
Mormonism in Mexico is inextricably linked with polygamy because literally by the late 1800s and the the church was you know being persecuted in the United States the Mormon church is being persecuted for practicing polygamy. The Los colonias that are set up in northern Mexico in like Chihuahua right in colonial waters I think it's called they're literally set up for the United for the Mormons to be able to keep practicing polygamy but outside the reach of the United States federal government so like that's a weird origin for Mormonism in Mexico that it's like to escape the law and to keep the practice of polygamy goingYeah he pretty much split any relationship between the church and state and the Catholic
