Jonathan Bennett: Hetero-meseo causation is an ugly term. It was made up basically by John Bishop in his book, Natural Agency. In these cases, the agent only acts because of the agency of somebody else. The person's not acting intentionally; they're just acting through a natural pathway that evolves through another type of causal path.
