How to Be a Successful Portfolio Manager

Before you had the COO role you were portfolio manager of one of the major funds. My advice is very consistent, which is do a little bit of everything when you're a junior person. Take 10 years and go do something else for it to have two stints of five doing something else. Just get as much experience as you can because if you want to ultimately be a portfolio manager or some other role that does require a broad set of experiences and knowledge It's the best path.
