What Is an Abject Elements?
There is the minimum irreducible distance or difference, if you will, between these two entities that allows them to remain distinct. That's why one of the basic key definitions of abjection for those of you that read the great post-Lacania and Julia Christeva is anything that appears in this liminal zone between two entities. So an abject element in the human face, for instance, is that piece of food that gets caught in your teeth that calls attention to the fact that you have an inside accessed by way of your mouth and an outside where other people can see some nasty shit happening in there.
