Etsy.com is a site that lets people sell items they've made for free. In the U.S., about 95% of sellers start out selling on ets with friends and family as their vetting ground. When she was looking for a gift to give her daughter, Ester decided to try making herself a skirt using fabric from etsy. She sewed one prototype then posted it online in hopes someone would buy it. It sold very quickly.
