Crooked House has had no fewer than three film adaptations over the years. There was a reference made at least in 1979 by Rosalind Hicks to a quote, family jinx on the book. It wasn't until 2008 that the book even got a BBC radio play adaptation. In 2011, there was a very widely publicized deal involving Neil Lebut as director with a script by WaitForIt. Julie Andrews, Gabriel Byrne, and Matthew Goode starring in it.
