Idiopathic Parkinsonism

Once you've ruled out drug-induced Parkinsonism, what is important is to try to figure out what the likelihood is that they have idiopathic PD versus some other form of neurodegenerative Parkinsonism. This affects their response to medication, it affects their prognosis, and it affects the way that you counsel your patient. Early cognitive impairment, early severe autonomic dysfunction, early falls are all red flags for another diagnosis.
