The Free Speech Union's Lobbying to Change the Payment Regulations
The Free Speech Union has been lobbying the treasury for the past nine months to change the payment regulations. There is going to be an announcement by Andrew Griffith, the economic secretary to the treasury, shortly within a couple of weeks,. They are going to change the regulations both to make banks more transparent about why they're closing people's accounts as well as including a principal in the payment regulation saying you cannot close people's accounts simply because they're exercising their right to law for Free Speech. And if people's accounts continue to be closed for political reasons after the regulations have been changed, that will make it easier for peopleBoth to complain to financial conduct authority, complain to the financial ombudsman, and sue
