The Evolution of Linear a and Linear B in Ancient Egypt
Linear A and Linear B are writing forms associated with the second millennium BC, e cultures of the Minoan and the Mycenaean. The linear B system is believed to have taken over from the linear A system which developed in Minoan Crete. We don't know enough about the language of the Minoans to be able to make what we know about linear scripts make any sense to us today. This must be very frustrating for philologists as we have enough artifacts from MinoanCrete to recognize an evolution of the linear A script from an earlier form of Crete and hieroglyphs.
