There was this understanding that if you're going to climb the socio economic ladde, whatever, however we want to describe it, that you will go to college. And there was sort of an implied, i remember thisg up in high school. The assumption is that those who do what we'd call blue collar jobs, carpentry, plumbing, eletrical workin our day, it was like those or you don't want those jobs, sonny,. You know, cause you you might have to work too hard. Yes? That was the assumption.
