The Mystery of Professor Abbott's Suicide

I think there's still a mystery surrounding this guy. Professor Abbott reached out to his descendants and nobody had any new information. It is a reasonable conclusion, but I still feel that there's too many unanswered questions for me to be able to say or be comfortable in saying it is definitively a suicide. We don't have a lot of answers here.
