The Role of Behavior Analysis in Teaching Social Skills

Behavior analysis is one of the most widely researched methodologies for working with kids with autism. There are hundreds of evidence based tactics in the behavior analytic research that talk about teaching and expanding social skills. A lot of strategies that we'll be talking about moving forward have a little bit of a behavioral lens to it. So what types of social skills can be taught? Basically any skill can be targeted within the natural environment ranging from basic prerequisite social skills to more advanced repertoires and pragmatics.
