Carbon mand oxide alarms must be fitted in all private rental homes with gas boilers. The regulation isn't in place just yet, but it looks like it will be soon. According to research by the national residential landlords association, 67 % of local authorities have prosecuted zero landlords relating to standards on the management of private, rented housing over the last three years. Just 20 local authorities were responsible for 70 percent of all prosecutions.
