Don't Fail Your First Test

Bilbo makes a foolish decision. He gets caught. And all his friends, the dwarves all get caught,. They're all going to be eaten, they have to be saved. The only reason they survived is basically because Gandalf saves them. So in other words, Bilbo totally and completely fails this first test. But what's the message? Just survive.
