The Complexity of Cirrhosis Bleeding Risk
In a patient out of warfarin how dangerous a procedure will be from a bleeding perspective, their INR is a very good indicator. But if I'm trying to assess the risk of bleeding in a patient with cirrhosis, the INR is not a good indicator for that because there are so many other factors at play. And on top of that, Dr. Ma taught me that there's so much more that goes into bleeding risk for a patient with Cirrhosis that FFP won't even touch.
