The glycemic index really just doesn't tell you much about the overall quality of the food. You're not understanding what kind of micronutrients are associated with the food. There are a number of practical things that we should consider when we're determining what type of carbohydrate foods we want to include in our diet. And ultimately, because of all those shortcomings I listed, glycemic index shouldn't be high on the list.
