Mike is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering. In addition, he holds a certificate in business administration and management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a U.S. Department of Energy certification in naval nuclear propulsion. He and his wife Kelly have two grown children and live in Annapolis, Maryland.

He is also the author of Learn How to Lead to Win.
