The Benefits of Domestication

Domestication is the process by which a domesticator constructs an environment in which they actively manage the reproduction and survival of another species. So common examples are dogs, sheep, cows, those are animal examples. But plants are also domesticates, of course. The domestication process literally, evolutionarily changes the species into a domesticated species. That would usually only happen if it's going to benefit that species in some way.
