The Memory Palace, a History Cast That Is All About Being Brief but Dramatic
Bradford gilbert was an architect for the new york lake erie and western railroad. He designed a ten story tower building that would have room to stretch out his legs while he made rent at john nobell Sterns' office. The walls had to be five feet thick, but they were just nine inches each. Gilbert built it up instead of out in order to avoid wind gusts crashing down on top of him. After years of weight hanging in the air, when he crawled his way back down,. he found the lead still held up by a building that wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.
