The Cholesterol Synthesis Chain

All cells make an inci-weensy tiny bit of cholesterol that they need to put in their cell membranes for normal cell membrane function. These cells do nothing else with cholesterol except steroidogenic tissues, adrenal cortex and gonads making reproductive adrenal cortical hormones. So no cell is over-producing cholesterol under normal circumstances.
