The Origins of the Outrigger Canoe
The previous thousand or so years had seen a massive population increase. The genetic evidence suggests that the migrants out of tian consisted of family groups that included both men and women. Astronesian speakers across oceania and island southeast asia today share macondray lineages with the indigenous people of tian. These early migrants traversed the seas in a distinctive vessel, the outrigger canoe.
