Intro

This chapter explores the oppressive religious atmosphere in 16th century Geneva shaped by Calvin, juxtaposed with contemporary notions of religious freedom. It also examines Martin Luther's challenges with the various interpretations of Sola Scriptura and his dismay at the unintended divisions that arose within his movement.
