PhD Student Grants in the Netherlands?
In the Netherlands, a PI basically needs to have a grant ready that he got from a funding agency to get a PhD student. And there's also grants that PhD students can apply for themselves. Then they need a PI that sort of backs them. But I would say that's definitely not the standard. The standard is that a PI already has a grant and then you apply for this position. So yeah, yeah. That was the amine. There's definitely problems in other areas in the Netherlands, but that works quite well.
