The Non Structural Element of a Building
The idea that the brick might block the doors is kind of a leap. To meet code though, these exits are supposed to be clear for people to leave. So I think right there, and then let's say a drop ceiling falls on someone. They need to go out that door for the ambulance. That door is blocking their bricks.
