Turn Notifications Off for a Week
Open-plan offices dramatically increase the amount of times we get distracted. Bruce Newport suggests monk mode morning, where you're only reachable after 11am or noon with no meetings before that time. By forcing yourself to spend time alone in the morning, you're increasing the chance of flow in high quality work without interruption. But what about notifications? Should we keep them on during this time or should we turn them off?
