i hinted that there are some projects that started in goglec that got really far, but ultimately didn't pan out. One of those had to do with high altitude balloons. Google would eventually create a spin off company called loon to bring this technology to market. The new company landed a deal to provide internet connectivity over parts of kenya. But it became clear that the operational costs and the risks were too great to make loon a viable business. So google popped the loon project in 20 21.
