The Irony of Distraction Politics
We are living in full-on politics by stunts, politics by bear traps. Most of the important rules don't change until after they've potentially lost an election. So it just makes life impossible for Labour. And I do think we're into sort of fully cynical politics. It's purely about the electoral politics of it and the fact that we have a government run entirely in the interests of angry older voters at this point.
