The Government's Giving the Secretary of State a Legislative Wrecker
The secretary of state will get wide ranging legislative powers in a number of areas. The government may take the view that it's no longer proportionate to regulate professions like dieticians and clinical scientists, just as an example. There's also a proposal that individual regulators will have a power to delegate their functions to others. And again, another way of trying to rationalize, to increase efficiency, savings in the provision of regulation in this country.
