The Importance of Trust in Identity Politics

In Australia, the Australian National University has been tracking confidence in the federal government for nearly 60 years. It's now reached very low levels and doesn't pick up at the time of elections. The minute you don't trust one another, cooperation and the chance to work together to seek a better outcome for everyone starts to break down. And this is feeding this tribalism that's the product of identity politics.
